This is a small ski/mountaineering expedition to cross Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajokull during spring season. With our objective also on Hvannadalshnukur, Iceland’s highest peak standing at 2110m.
This is a great addition to the crossing and is a huge highlight in everyone’s memories. From there we have a long descent down to the south side of the glacier. Conditions in the past have been challenging with Artic like weather at times even in spring. In total we’ll be on the ice for 9 days.
This is an incredible trip offering you something truly different in the Land of Fire and Ice.
Mt Kilimanjaro
Dates – January, February, March, June, July, September, October 2013
Price – £1,999 inc flights
Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain and the highest freestanding mountain in the world standing at 5895m.
Kilimanjaro is a very achievable prospect for anyone who has a good level of fitness and a hunger for a challenge. We use the Machame Route located in the southern base of the mountain and allow 7 days for the route, which offers the best chance for acclimatisation.
On the mountain you will encounter some incredible landscapes and return with memories that will last a lifetime so why not give us a call and discuss with one of our team who have great first hand experience working on the mountain.
This trip is great for charities and groups who want to achieve this feat together.
Mont Blanc Summit (July – September) £1500
Standing at 4810m Mont Blanc is the highest in Western Europe and offers you a really exciting week. We ascend via the Gouter Route as this is the most assured way of reaching the summit and is in condition more consistently than alternative routes.
Reaching the summit of Mont Blanc is a huge achievement and we want to give you the best possible chance of summiting that’s why we have broken our ascent into 3 days. In the past we have found this to be the most successful method.
Experience Required
In order to give yourself the best possible chance on the mountain a good level of fitness and stamina is required. Previous ice axe and crampon use is preferred however this is something we can cover in Chamonix before going onto the mountain.
Matterhorn Summit (July – September) £2300
The Matterhorn is probably one of the most beautiful and iconic peaks in the Alps. We climb the Matterhorn via the classic Hornli Ridge, this is a long day with some tricking points at times requiring your full concentration as we usually start our ascent around 3am from the Hornli Hut.
Summiting the Matterhorn is in most mountaineer’s sights, however it must be understood that dry conditions with little snow is required to make this route feasible.
Prior to our climb we’ll have 3 days of acclimatisation before heading to Zermatt.
Experience at climbing at alpine AD routes combined with solid fitness.
